I use a holistic approach, and draw on a variety of theoretical approaches and techniques, tailoring my work to each person’s individual needs to help them create positive and lasting change. Robert Phillips, M.Mus, MCP, CCTP, RCC. My professional goal is to provide a non-judgmental and open heart to my clients, so that they may feel comfortable to fully investigate their potential for growth. Fundamentally, too, I believe that openness and creativity in the therapeutic process are paramount to success. Whether you are passing through a life transition, facing depression or anxiety, battling addiction, or simply feeling stuck, I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey and to discovering new ways to cope.
Human beings already have the necessary tools and resources to tackle what life presents, and it is only in the absence of a therapeutic relationship that these resources are kept from awareness. It takes real courage to face the challenges of life head-on. Contacting a mental health practitioner is worthy of admiration. I hold a Master of Counselling from Adler University in Vancouver, and I am an RCC with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#16632). Whether it is the person-centred approach, cognitive-behavioural therapy, or some other technique that fits best, I believe we can find new ways of being that will work for you.
Kristen Hamilton, M.A., RCC I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor who is passionate about helping youth and adults identify and overcome the obstacles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. I seek to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for youth and adults to explore patterns and beliefs that may be hindering them from making meaningful changes in their lives. Together, we can explore and process the impact past wounds and relationships may be having on your sense of self and your relationships. Through processing and beginning to challenge these beliefs, I seek to help my clients feel more empowered and confident in establishing and maintaining their relationship with themselves and others.
I have a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I approach counselling from a person-centred, family systems and attachment-informed perspective. I also incorporate aspects of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), as appropriate.
Connie Millar, M.Ed., RCC I am honoured by the opportunity to offer you a safe space to express and explore your feelings, as well as possible solutions. As you struggle to make sense of the circumstances you find yourself in, I will hold hope for you until you are once again able to hold it yourself.
I am a person-centred therapist who highly values the therapeutic connection, seeks to highlight strengths and views painful life experiences (when processed aptly) as a catalyst for personal growth. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Colin Evans, M.A., RCC. I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. Jennifer Hammersmark, Ph.D, RCC. I am the owner of The Counselling Group and I have been doing this work for almost 25 years — and I love it! It is the best job in the world. Helping people heal, getting them through tough times, or helping them achieve their next goal…it is all very rewarding. I have had other careers before this one, and my childhood had it’s fair share of challenges. All of this comes together to help you — whether it be myself personally, or connecting you with one of the great therapists I partner with, my commitment is still the same:
“Let all those who come leave better and happier”
